במאה ה-17, בתקופה של אמונות טפלות וקסם, ציידת חניכות צעירה, רובין גודפלו, נוסעת לאירלנד עם אביה כדי לחסל את להקת הזאבים האחרונה. תוך כדי חקירת האדמות האסורות מחוץ לחומות העיר, רובין מתיידדת עם ילדה חופשיה, מב, חברה בשבט מסתורי שהשמועה גורסת כי יש לו יכולת להפוך לזאב בלילה. בעודם מחפשים אחר אמה הנעדרת, מגלה רובין סוד המושך אותה עוד יותר אל עולמם הקסום של מהלכי הזאבים, ומסתכנת בהפיכה לדבר שאביה רצה להרוס.
