Dit drama portretteert het leven van de 19e koning van Goguryeo, Hwanwoong, die vanuit de hemel werd gestuurd om de wereld een betere plek te maken. Hij wordt verliefd op Saeoh en geeft haar de joojak-ketting; Kajin wordt echter jaloers sinds Saeoh het leven heeft geschonken aan de zoon van Hwanwoong. Ze pakt de baby en gooit hem van een klif. Saeoh, die denkt dat haar zoon is overleden, wordt overmand door verdriet en verandert in de zwarte joojak om de wereld te vernietigen. Hwanwoong is de enige die haar kan tegenhouden. Daarna keert Hwanwoong terug naar de hemel en profeteert dat 2000 jaar later de echte Joo Shin-koning naar de aarde zal komen. Met de hulp van de vier goden zal hij Joo Shin herbouwen.
